So I went for my last kayak ride of the season on Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful warm day with blue sky and high clouds. The lake was still and crystal clear and it reminded me of C.S. Lewis' The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. There were just a few ducks around and the kingfisher was making its ratchety racket up the creek where I launch my little boat. What a wonderful ending to a long summer. Now the season is changing, the trees are taking on new color, the nights are cooler, the flowers look worn out and bedraggled. And my mind is turning to different activities. Get busy Karen with writing, painting, weaving and some indoor redecorating!
